We are firm believers that Living History is a powerful tool for education. Research of primary sources and secondary literature is all well and good – but a large part of why we do this is to engage with the wider public, and to talk about the experiences of those humans who came before us. Here we see some wonderful photos taken by Marshall Material Culture of our presentations at Cromford Mills earlier in the year; talking about everything from the French garrisons in Saint-Domingue, featuring a demonstration of foot and arms drill, to The Parrot & Cocoa Tree Coffee House – 1781 discussing the importance of a woman’s apron!
