Our latest visit to Moira Furnace Museum and Country Park was a little different to our previous outings. We provided our usual demonstration of French uniform and weaponry, sentry duties, and continual public engagement…but this time the main scenario was set around Lexington and Concord in 1775, so we were not able to participate in the skirmish demonstration. Instead, our soldats helped keep the public safe from musket fire – and le Caporal stepped in to narrate the action!
We had a wonderful time meeting so many enthusiastic visitors, working on our arms and foot drill, and even spending some downtime with our frenemies in Virginia Continentals UK 1775 – 1783; The Pattern. HM 33rd Regiment of Foot 1770 -1785; 17th Regiment of Foot 1775-83; 23rd Regiment of Foot, The Royal Welch Fuzileers 1743-1783; and the newest group of the UK #RevWar community – the 1st Delawares!
