Well we’ve finished our season in style – at the #buxtongeorgianfestival! A sunny Saturday saw us practising our drill, guarding the Crescent, and talking lots more to some amazing public about the #18thcentury#frencharmy. We even got to experience a bit of that ultra-modern “Entente Cordiale”!

Our immense thanks to Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust for hosting us, and to The Pattern. HM 33rd Regiment of Foot 1770 -1785 for being such excellent colleagues. Progressive re-enacting is a mindset which unifies so many, and we can’t wait for more co-operation with our “friendly” redcoats to show the importance of a high standard of living history.

For now we’re entering winter quarters. Historically this often saw the soldats of Le Gatinois in cold and muddy trenches in the eastern USA; we continue to uphold their legacy and tell their story in testament to their service.

And if you’re interested in joining us to tell that story, drop us a message! We’ll be hosting several training sessions over this off-season for drill, kit-making, and just general socialising, before we get the opportunity to take to the field again…in 2025.
